Introduction

Lead The Way Learning Academy is seeking proposals for a Human Resources Specialist to assist our organization in various HR functions. This contracted position will focus on supporting our dynamic team through a hybrid model of remote and in-person work, ensuring flexibility and efficiency in meeting our organizational needs.


Scope of Work

The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Managing recruitment processes including job postings, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews.

  • Implementing and maintaining HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.

  • Handling employee relations, including conflict resolution and disciplinary processes.

  • Conducting onboarding and exit interviews.

  • Managing employee records and data in the HR information system.

  • Providing support in payroll management and benefits administration.

  • Delivering HR reports and participating in strategic planning sessions.

  • Offering guidance on professional development and training programs.

  • Ensuring that HR practices reflect the academy’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.


Hours and Duration

The contractor will be required to work an average of 5-10 hours per week. The initial contract will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and the ongoing needs of the organization.


Job Requirements
  • Proven experience as an HR Specialist or HR Generalist.

  • Strong understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures.

  • Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of HRMS is a plus.

  • Proficient in QuickBooks. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality.

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • BSc/BA in Human Resources, Business Administration, or relevant field; further training will be considered a plus.

  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.


Proposal Submission

  2. A cover letter explaining why they are a good fit for this position.

  3. A proposed hourly rate and a brief outline of how they will fulfill the job responsibilities.

  4. Two professional references.


Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance and extent of work experience.

  • Proposed approach to managing the scope of work.

  • Cost-effectiveness of the proposal.

  • References and testimonials from previous employers or clients.
