Coaches Ebony Harris and Malik Miller were invited to participate in "The Big Table Conversation" by Tonya Kelly, M.ED-CEO/Founder of Empower our Youth during the recent 98th Chamber Clambake & Lobster Feast.
During the "The Big Table Conversation," many topics were discussed such as education through empathy & engagement, anti-bullying skills and resources, tutoring and mentoring, Positive behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in the classroom, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) activities, self-esteem and empowerment, and literacy. This was an amazing event to attend. There were numerous community partners in the room, including Franklin County Municipal Court Judge Mike McAllister, a radio host from Apex1 Radio Show, retired school teachers from Columbus City Schools, parents, teachers and a female veteran that fought in the Gulf War.
