Anthony Murphy Recognized with the 2024 Non-Profit Visionary Award

We are thrilled to announce that our Executive Director, Anthony Murphy, was recognized with the 2024 Non-profit Visionary Award at the The Columbus Chamber’s Annual Meeting, NEXT ERA: Embrace the Future with US, hosted at the Greater Columbus Convention Center/ASM Global!


"This is the most distinguished event of The Columbus Chamber’s calendar, uniting a remarkable assembly of Columbus Region business and community leaders. It symbolizes their deep recognition of the profound impact that innovation, creativity, and a shared vision have on their future. This award recognizes our leader as an impactful non-profit leader in the Greater Columbus community."

The award ceremony, part of the Next Era Annual Meeting Program, not only celebrated Murphy's achievements but also highlighted the collaborative efforts required to drive societal progress. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in registration and networking sessions, fostering connections that are essential for the collective advancement of our communities.



Anthony's impactful contributions and unwavering commitment to fostering educational excellence and community development has truly been transformative. Under his visionary leadership, our agency has grown from an operating budget of $900k to an astounding $3.5M. Lead The Way has gone from serving 250 youth to more than 700 youth annually; not only expanding our reach, but profoundly impacting the lives of countless young individuals.




Anthony's dedication to nurturing talent, fostering skills, and creating opportunities is nothing short of inspiring.  His visionary approach has led Lead The Way to be on the forefront and leading edge of youth workforce development sitting at the table with educators, employers and community partners all working toward a common goal.


Anthony shares that, “This award is a culmination of efforts from so many different people.  From the dream of our founder, Jackie Kemp, hard work of all staff, support from our community and funders to produce unparalleled outcomes.”
