Groveport Madison High School (GMHS) recently hosted its "Night of Excellence" award ceremony, recognizing students for their hard work and dedication throughout the school year. This event celebrated not only the outstanding achievements of the current academic year but also the cumulative accomplishments of the graduating seniors.
Lead The Way proudly acknowledges the remarkable achievements of its 2024 graduates. This year, LTW youth Esther Olusemo, Hawa Thiam, Tylynn Geiger, and Bibek Khanal share the high honor of being named valedictorians. In addition to this distinction, Bibek Khanal was celebrated as an AP Scholar for scoring a 3 or higher on at least three AP exams, showcasing his academic prowess.
Several students received scholarships during the ceremony, highlighting their academic and extracurricular excellence. Esther Olusemo, Elliot Phillips, Addison Cothern, and Hawa Thiam were among the scholarship recipients, reflecting their hard work and potential for future success. While Quincy Butler was recognized for his commitment to the United States Armed Forces.
The ceremony also honored students who demonstrated exceptional linguistic abilities. Tony Medrano, Hawa Thiam, and Elisha Ba earned the biliteracy seal for the state of Ohio. This seal signifies their proficiency in multiple languages, including the successful completion of Ohio’s English requirements alongside their native languages.
The Night of Excellence was a heartwarming celebration of student success, dedication, and the promise of a bright future for Groveport Madison High School’s graduates. Lead The Way is honored to have been a small part in the journeys of these young scholars and future community leaders.Â
