Each spring, Peace Day at New Albany High School (NAHS) serves as a joyful and energizing tradition to mark the winding down of the school year. With finals around the corner, students are given a well-deserved break to reconnect, recharge, and celebrate their accomplishments. This year’s event, held on May 2, 2025, was one of the most memorable yet, and Lead The Way (LTW) was proud to be a part of the festivities.

Community, Connection, and Celebration

The school grounds were transformed into a vibrant celebration space, complete with food trucks, lawn games, and field day-style activities. Students poured into the event ready to enjoy an afternoon of fun and fellowship. At the heart of the action, LTW hosted a colorful and welcoming table where our Post-Secondary Advisors connected with current students in the program and introduced prospective participants to the wide range of opportunities LTW offers. It was an ideal space to reflect on the strength of our partnerships and the growing interest among students who are eager to gain support in preparing for college, careers, and beyond.

Big Games and Bigger Energy

Among the many exciting attractions were high-energy competitions such as BattleShip and Dodgeball, which kept crowds cheering and the spirit of camaraderie alive throughout the afternoon. One of the most anticipated moments of the day was the annual student vs. staff dodgeball game, a highlight made even better by the return of Senior Post-Secondary Advisor Devon Blackwell. Known for his impressive showing in last year’s match, Devon did not disappoint, drawing cheers and laughter with his signature competitive flair. His participation helped deepen connections with students and reinforced the positive presence LTW continues to bring to the NAHS community.

1,000 Popsicles & Countless Smiles

LTW brought the cool factor, literally, by distributing over 1,000 popsicles to students, staff, and even the hard-working food truck vendors throughout the event. These sweet treats were more than just refreshments—they were a symbol of gratitude, encouragement, and celebration of everything students have achieved this year.

It was a small but powerful way to show up for our youth and remind them how proud we are of their growth, resilience, and progress.

A Meaningful Partnership

We extend our sincere thanks to New Albany High School for inviting LTW to be part of this meaningful tradition. Events like Peace Day highlight the importance of community, connection, and joy in student success.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with NAHS and supporting students in their journey to becoming confident, capable, and purpose-driven leaders.

Thank you, NAHS, for a beautiful day of peace, pride, and popsicles! Let's continue to Lead the Way together!
