LTWLA Joins Forces with United Way for Tax Time Program

Saturday, February 24, 2024

LTWLA is thrilled to announce its participation in the United Way of Central Ohio's Tax Time program, marking an important step in our commitment to community service and empowerment.

Tax Time, a collaborative effort involving nonprofit organizations, businesses, and government agencies, is dedicated to offering free tax preparation services and connecting low- and moderate-income households with vital financial resources. Last season alone, the program served over 12,000 clients, facilitating refunds exceeding $13 million and saving clients over $3 million in preparation fees. Shockingly, statistics reveal that more than 488,923 individuals in Franklin County struggle to meet their basic needs. By ensuring accurate tax filing and maximizing available credits, Tax Time plays a crucial role in making a tangible financial impact on families throughout the state.

At the heart of Tax Time is its signature event, Super Saturday, widely recognized as the largest free tax preparation event in Central Ohio. On February 24, 2024, Lead The Way Learning Academy proudly joined countless volunteers at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Education Center from 9am to 5pm. Together, we diligently worked to complete tax returns for members of our community. The event went beyond tax preparation, offering a diverse range of services including free childcare and informative clinics conducted by esteemed organizations such as the Legal Aid Society of Columbus and Financial Empowerment Center.

LTWLA is honored to have been part of this remarkable experience and to have contributed to the well-being of our community. Our involvement underscores our deep-rooted commitment to serving and uplifting those in need. We look forward to continuing our partnership with United Way and other community organizations to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families across Central Ohio.
