The youth of The Graham School were treated to an inspiring event featuring guest speaker StarrBarr, who shared her journey in entrepreneurship, business ownership, and esthetics. Starr shared with the audience with her insights into career awareness, financial literacy, and the challenges she overcame on her path to success.
Starr recounted how her dream of becoming an esthetician took shape after realizing that traditional education wasn't aligning with her aspirations. After a year at Columbus State Community College, Starr realized school was not the path she believed God wanted her on. She followed her intuition and applied to OSU's esthetics program. Starr perused her goal, even when facing delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Undeterred by setbacks, Starr completed her education in 2021 and secured a position at Waxxpot in Grandview.
Recognizing her desire to be her own boss, Starr took the leap into entrepreneurship and opened her own salon in January 2023. Now, over a year into her business venture, Starr boasts a thriving waxing business with a loyal clientele, a testament to her faith, hard work, and networking skills.
Starr's journey serves as an inspiration to The Graham School youth, illustrating the power of perseverance and goal-setting. Her ability to turn obstacles into opportunities resonated deeply with the audience, who expressed admiration for her achievements at such a young age.
