At Lead The Way, we believe in nurturing well-rounded youth who excel in every arena of life. Our students continue to prove that with dedication, discipline, and support, they can go far—both academically and athletically. This week’s track meet provided yet another inspiring example of that commitment in action.

A Perfect Day to Compete

On a sunny afternoon with ideal spring weather, LTW Post-Secondary Advisor Eboni stepped out to cheer on our student-athletes during one of the most competitive meets of the season. Hosted as a tri-meet, the stakes were high, with top performers vying for spots at an exclusive upcoming invitational event.

From the moment they stepped onto the track, our students were focused and prepared. Their dedication to warm-ups, mental readiness, and technique showed just how much effort they’ve invested throughout the season.

Personal Records and New Achievements

The results of their hard work were undeniable. Several LTW students broke personal records (PRs) in their events—including the 100m and 200m dash, as well as relay team events. Their impressive performances secured them invitations to the next round of competition, where they will continue to represent their schools and the LTW community with pride. New Albany High School (NAHS), where many LTW students are enrolled, also had a strong showing, finishing second overall in the meet.

True Student-Athletes: Academic Excellence Meets Athletic Drive

While their accomplishments on the track are remarkable, it’s their achievements off the field that set them apart as exceptional student-leaders. Elikem Ayivor, Junior Adusei, and Senior Adusei, three standout LTW athletes, have not only trained rigorously for their sport but have also maintained Honor Roll status throughout the entire academic year. Their consistent academic excellence reflects the same determination they show in competition.

Looking Ahead: The HBCU College Tour

In keeping with their forward-thinking goals, all three student-athletes will participate in LTW’s four-day HBCU College Tour this June. This powerful opportunity will allow them to explore Historically Black Colleges and Universities firsthand, connect with admissions teams, and envision the next step in their postsecondary journey.

The tour represents a meaningful milestone in their college and career planning, and a chance to build momentum toward a bright future.

A Legacy of Excellence

At Lead The Way, we are incredibly proud of our youth who embody the spirit of perseverance and leadership. From the track to the classroom, and soon onto college campuses, students like Elikem, Junior, and Senior are blazing trails for their peers to follow.

Congratulations to all of our LTW athletes! Your hard work, humility, and heart inspire us all, continue to Lead the Way!
